My name is Joel Bennett, and I want to do my part to make the world a better place.
I’m a programmer, amateur photographer, and lover of all things mechanical and electrical. You might say I have the knack. When I’m not busy writing code or snapping pictures, you can often find me hanging out with friends, baking something in the kitchen, or tooling around in the woodworking shop.
How do I want to make the world a better place?
- Through Software: I want to create software that simplifies life. Remember that software should work with people. People shouldn’t have to work with software. Far too often web pages, email applications, and applications on smart phones frustrate users, don’t work properly, and end up causing more work and stress than what they were designed to prevent. It doesn’t need to be like that.
- Through Photography: By capturing the beautiful moments in life, hopefully I can inspire others so that they can likewise see the beauty around them.
- Through Design: I enjoy looking at common objects with the intention of improving them – everything from furniture, plumbing fixtures, to home and automotive designs.
- Through Example: I might not be perfect, but I try. Perhaps somehow I can be an inspiration to others though the things I say and do.
Feel free to drop me a line. I love to get feedback, especially on projects that I have done.
